Aging and Disability Resource Center
The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) provides a place to get information and assistance on all aspects of life related to aging or living with a disability, including all available programs and services. ADRC services can be provided at the center, via telephone or through a home visit, whichever is more convenient to you. ADRCs are responsible for enrollment counseling, enrollment and disenrollment in the Family Care and Family Care Partnership programs and the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) in Wisconsin.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is the federal agency in charge of the Medicare program. CMS contracts with and regulates Medicare health plans and Medicare private fee-for-service organizations.

  • Call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) to ask questions or get free informational booklets. You can call this national Medicare helpline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. TTY users should call 1-877-486-2048.
            
  • Go to the Web site, www.medicare.gov, for up-to-date information about Medicare and tools to help you compare Medicare Advantage plans and prescription drug plans in your area.

MetaStar
MetaStar is the federally funded quality improvement organization of doctors and health professionals in Wisconsin that reviews medical care and handles certain types of complaints from patients with Medicare.

MetaStar handles complaints about quality of care and complaints from Medicare patients who think the coverage for their hospital, skilled nursing facility, home health agency or comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation stay is ending too soon.

Ombudsman Assistance
Regional ombudsmen offer assistance free of charge to current or potential Partnership members and their families or guardians with ensuring quantity and quality of services; complaint investigation; mediation and informal resolution of conflicts; provision of information and education on current and potential members’ rights and benefits; and preparation for and representation at appeals, grievances and fair hearings.

Railroad Retirement Board
The Railroad Retirement Board is an independent federal agency that administers comprehensive benefit programs for the nation’s railroad workers and their families. If you have questions regarding your benefits from the Railroad Retirement Board, contact the agency.

Social Security Administration
The Social Security Administration provides economic protection for Americans of all ages. Social Security programs include retirement benefits, disability benefits, family benefits, survivors' benefits and benefits for the aged, blind and disabled.

State of Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI)
OCI performs a variety of tasks to protect consumers and ensure a competitive insurance environment. OCI issues licenses for the selling and marketing of insurance products in the state and maintains insurer compliance with state laws and rules. You can turn to OCI for information on available insurance programs, consumer choices and special insurance issues. You also can receive assistance with filing a complaint or reporting fraud.

Wisconsin Medicaid
Wisconsin Medicaid is a medical and long-term care program operated by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services under related state and federal rules and regulations. The Medicaid program helps with medical costs for some people with limited income and resources. Most health care costs are covered if you qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid.
